Powerdraw 5.0

The key differences between powerdraw 5.0 and previous powerdraw 4.0 or older versions?

  • First and foremost, file legacy is always maintained for previous powerdraw files. The templates, drawing files and tool icon stencils.

  • We strive to maintain backward compatibility and forward compatibility with Visio versions. We did draw a line at any prior versions of Visio 2016 due to their version changes.

  • We include the accumulation of all the maintenance & security updates required for both Visio and Windows OS Systems.

  • Numerous changes and improvements to our powerdraw templates. Changes to our tool icon library – particularly the casing & open hole icons and new smaller increment deviations. https://powerdraw.net/smart-tool-icons

  • Discontinued use of .pdd and pdt file extensions. All powerdraw files are now using the Visio file format. This reduces confusion between Visio and powerdraw files. The file encryption has been creating some IT issues for some clients and creating some speed issues.

If you are an existing powerdraw client and have an SLA in place, then you may simply contact Customer Service to request the upgrade.

If you are an existing powerdraw client, but you do not have an SLA in place, you may purchase powerdraw 5.0 which includes a one year SLA extension.

For users upgrading from powerdraw4.x versions, go to item 4. Open powerdraw 4.x. files. Instructions on opening legacy .pdd and .pdt files, then converting them to .vsdx and vstx files to use in powerdraw 5.0.
